I don't like us getting Kapanen. He is inconsistent, more expensive than Greenway and the year left on his deal forces us to lose great players in the summer.

Trading Fleury is also a bit hazard without a goalie coming back, Wallstedt is not ready yet.

I think PIT would have to add a little to Greenway-Kapanen, and I'm willing to do that.
Zucker is completely off the table, though. He's too important, and wouldn't be going out unless we had a better winger coming in. And we can't afford one of those.
As much as I love MAF, I don't think he's solving our problems.

Barely more expensive than Greenway and he has one fewer year on his contract. Greenway provides a nice physical presence and defensive play. Kapanen helps provide more offense.

I actually disagree on Wallstedt. He has been an absolute rock for Iowa. The last three games he’s played have been not great play from Iowa, allowing 35, 38 and 43 shots against. Two of those games he had a .930+ sv% and still wound up with an L on his record. He’s cool calm and collected. Positionally sound. Swallows pucks. He’d give Gus an excellent run for his money for the starting position next year.

That’s fair. I felt like I saw Zucker to Minnesota trades before on here and I know his wife won’t leave Minnesota due to child custody. I think he’s going to be a potential low cost UFA signing with a NMC for Minnesota this summer.
