You realize that the return for Kane will be nothing close to this. When Patrick Kane says I only want to go to the Rangers, it will be whatever the Rangers are willing to pay in good faith to the system.

They will likely pay 2nd rounder or equivalent to Hawks for Kane, and a 4th or 5th to a 3rd party team for retention.
