Leave out Henrique, no room for him. Eakin would be a solid pick up.
I'd have to rework the Eakin deal to not include Schmidt then. Because we don't have the space to carry him and Maatta.
Henrique gives them C or a winger ... as does Eakin. Eakin had a bad year so we don't know that he bounces back. Henrique is insurance that the can move a forward and plug him in Sheary's spot or Hornqvist, or Eakin, or if 87/71 get hurt he can play 2nd line as well. If Cullen resigns he gives us the ability to do that for 1 more season.
But why 3 star for making the team to good? :P

Not seeking big names, trades for Henrique. Maatta doesnt equal Henrique, you'll have to give up more.
Adam Henrique is not a big name. He's a top 6 winger with great versatility, but not superstar talent. He's a Nick Bonino with slightly more offensive ability. In Buffalo he's the 6th forward on their depth chart. In Pittsburgh he's 5th or 6th, depending what you think of Guentzal and maybe Rust as well. Just because he's the best his current team has to offer doesn't mean he's has the same value elsewhere.
I give up a 22 yr old puck moving defensemen who's under contract for 5 yrs at a salary that gets more reasonable the longer it goes ... to a team that has no chance at the playoffs in the next 2-4 years unless they keep finishing in the bottom of the standings, and win a lotto, and that lotto pick gets a serious talent. Contracts like that are not going to come to NJ unless they're via trade. So Henrique is potentially not a Devil in 2 years, but Maatta is there for 5 or more.
Maatta was drafted by Shero, who also signed him to that deal. If he's still high on him, this deal could take place. I also stated a pick can be thrown in either way. If you think Henrique commands more take the 4th (which is basically all Vegas got for Methot), but if Shero thinks he can get much more I'll move Maatta for something else, perhaps somewhere else.
It seems perfectly reasonable to me. Look at the larger picture.
