Description

On the Grant and Danny Podcast, MacLellan finally admitted the need of acquiring a top 6 winger. Should the rumors of Schmaltz being available end up being true, I think he should be the number one target of the Caps. Not sure how close I am to being correct but I personally would consider adding more in order to facilitate the trade.

I really can't see ARI do this... Mantha is just cap space... and don't see the rest as any significant at all.

honestly I think if they were able to move Mantha to another team you could get away with giving up a lot less, like take away the 24 1st or mcmike

Don’t think they can fit Keller at that cap hit, don’t see Arizona looking to move him anyway though

Given what they sold Chyc low, why wouldn’t they take this? McMichael is a young asset with NHL experience who’s played well when given adequate minutes, and is only in the AHL due to Washington having so many NHL-worthy forwards(or vets they can’t move in the case of Smith), Gibson is a really solid goalie prospect which they don’t have much of, and they get a 1st and a potentially high 2nd (who knows if Boston or Washington are sustainable into 2025). Even if you value Mantha as nothing, it’s a not a bad package by any stretch based on other trades from this year.
