The St. Louis swap looks okay, but according to the draft pick value chart I have, going from #39 overall to #32 requires the first pick in the third round, and from #39 to #30 requires a pick in the bottom quarter of the second round. And according to the DPVC relayed by @Nhlfan10506 (which I believe is older), the difference between #39 and #32 is a pick in the bottom quarter of the third round and between #39 and #30 is a pick in the third quarter of the third round. However, there are three pick-for-picks exchanges in the 2020 draft which suggest that the actual cost of moving into the first round might be higher than the older chart suggests.

The Blues pass, you're expecting too much. This year, the late 1sts are damn near as valuable as the mid 1sts. You're not getting two 1sts for #12. That's not to say the Blues wouldn't be interested in something of the variety, but the value is way off.

Yeah, you're gonna need to throw that out for this year's draft.

My trades above might not be perfect but essentially MTL has the opportunity this year to potentially have 4 1sts without actually moving another player. I appreciate the analysis though.

So what you're saying is it likely costs MTL their 2nd, 3rd, + to get that fourth 1st (or third if we don't trade back)?
