Yzerman has already drafted and banished deangelo once he isn't going to take him back now. I'd hope Detroit take a run at Hayes if he's going for that retained.

I wasnt sure how it ended between the 2, but I knew Yzerman drafted him, and Detroit traded Hronek. Yzerman obviously had some belief in him before, basically a 1 year prove it, no commitment is made to a D long term causing a bad contract and if it doesnt fit he can be flipped
