Description

Tough decisions to make, but we need to move on from some contracts and get a fresh start.

Eddy and Hoff are in the last years of their deals. They will not be around long term. We learned a lesson with Monahan. Once somebody shows interest, move him out ASAP.

Armia is one of the worst contracts in Habs history. I even said it when it was signed. Just move on.

Gally is a tough one to do, but it’s more about giving his ice time to others, and a little about him being grossly overpaid for what he’s going to give us in the next 4 yrs.

The main reason for these moves is to create ice time for development and evaluation.

You want to develop a culture of “ice time is earned”. It’s hard to do that with all of these contracts on the books.

Draft lottery will impact this lineup some as well.

I know some here want us to take a run at Dubois this summer. We aren’t going to win next season, why give up the assets? Let him sign his 1 yr deal, and we’ll give him a UFA contract and keep our assets.

Agree with most of this. Armia should be bought out so we can move on, for now gonna have to live with gallagher's contract, it sucks but we dont need the cap space in the next year or two. I would probably try and get Gurianov on a two year deal, we have a few wingers that should be moving up in the next couple seasons, mainly Farrel, Roy, Gurianov may become expendable in that second year and could be a decent TDL depending how he is producing.

gallagher contract is where and i think Roy makes the team and maybe Farrell and i like that more than gurianov on the team

Issue with Buyouts is that you pay for 2x the amount of years left. This is what Gally`s buyout looks like. You have $2.3M Cap hit until 2030
