Description
Stealing Byram would be nefarious, a proper Negasonic Teenage Warhead blow. The top four pairings could swap, but this seems like the right place to start.

Neighbours could also rise to the 2nd line if he puts it all together... or he could get flat outplayed by Blaiser and earn stripes on the checking line (though I'd rather not have him taking too many shifts against the league's remaining meatheads).

Reasonably ideal draft haul: Moore, Simashev, Price/Lindstein/Bonk/Strbak.
Unrealistically ideal haul: Fantilli*, Danielson, Price.

* = if that happens, just move Roslovic... easy peasy

Taxi squad is three young next man ups and three prospects still zooming toward the NHL. Snuggs arrives next spring, gets a late regular season look to see if he's up to the playoffs. Dean and Bolduc also debut at some point in the season.

This team is low key scary as hell, with options to adapt. It's certainly conceivable that guys like Vrana or Kap could be moved for a nice trinket or packaged with a pick for an upgrade - say, Konecny - late in the season (not because they're not performing, but because they're performing well enough to hold decent value/be tougher to re-sign as UFAs).

Over and out.

I'm still in wonder how you guys got Vrana with retention for free. That was easily the best move of the trade deadline. I don't see any other teams getting a top 6 forward who is great at 5v5 scoring for free....

Don’t hate it. Not sure what Gavrikovs market will look like but seems decent enough. The 2nd isn’t a big loss, but I really don’t think Leddy has negative value and I don’t think Roslovic has that much value. I think it’d be a pretty even swap that addresses holes on both teams assuming Columbus wants to be competitive next season.

As average as Leddy is, and I know +\- isn’t a great indicator. But he was positive this season and played mostly with Parayko in the harder matchups for at least half of the season. Gavrikov is definitely an upgrade, and I aswell am not thrilled with Leddys contract hit number, but I think if you can fit him in a 2nd pairing with a good RD he’s a useful player still.

+/- is not an individual stat and it doesn't do anything to suggest who keyed the goals for (which Leddy didn't do that much) and who made the mistakes on goals against (which he did religiously), or even who got away with mistakes because Binnington or another teammate bailed him out (which happened so so very often for Leddy). Of course it also does nothing to reward actual stops made (which he did not so much while others did insane amounts to avoid more GA from his mistakes). It also doesn't factor in how brutal he was on the PK (which, to be fair, he had no business being anywhere near). He also got really fat from occasions when he found himself down playing with Faulk on the 2nd pairing (+5 in 260 minutes) and Rosen on the 3rd (+6 in just 33 minutes). He also was not trusted to play when the Blues pulled their goalie, meaning he did not take a single minus from the 21 ENGs against.

He's just not good anymore, especially for that contract. He constantly takes brain naps and doesn't hustle and avoids confrontations in the dirty areas and does odd things with the puck in bad places. He certainly has no business on a top pairing at this stage of his career. Worst trade of Army's career made 1000x worse by the worst re-signing of Army's career. He cannot be gone fast enough. I'd rather be stuck with Krug than him any day, even though Krug costs a lot more cap for longer.
