Description

This Kings team doesn’t need any major additions, just resign their own players. I can see both trade additions wanting to stay, with GM Blake able to lock them up. Kings need to dump Petersen, not buy him out and have a 4 year cap hit. CHI needs to add assets and hit the cap floor, so I see them working it out.

Solid team, young team, possibly a Stanley Cup contender for years to come!!

Petersen cap dump is necessary, but this seems a bit steep. I would either keep Grans or Madden+pick. Grans is most valuable but you don't necessarily need him.

Also recent reports (which i don't get at this stage), they plan on signing Laferriere and will burn his ELC and play him to end the season. You should probably just trade two of Kupari, Kaliyev, JAD.

I would say Hawks hesitate at this, but I also see Kings fans saying this feels like a little to much. So this is probably fair. This would give the hawks 2 cap dump goaltenders. I think they will try to get Soderblum a good chunk of NHL games next year, slowing his development would be a reason they don't do this, but then again, could bury Peterson in Rockford.

Hawks would probably be willing to take on Peterson, but 2 years and $11m in real dollars means Kings are giving up assets Hawks want. '25 2nd is good start. Grans is a good prospect but doesn't really fit a need and Madden doesn't really move the needle. Overall package needs better pieces that appeal to the Hawks.
