Why is San Jose paying anything for a $20 mil cap dump? Should be multiple high end pieces coming to San Jose for taking Campbell

It won't happen with this GM but it also won't happen with this coach. Look at how Bouchard was played last year and how Broberg & Holloway have been played this season.

I know but they usually give them a better chance the second year and Lavoie and Niemelainen have to go thru waivers next year so they’ll have to keep them up at least to start the year. Otherwise I can see them being claimed. Bourgault may be the one that won’t be given the opportunity.

Campbell has had an off year and is coming out of it. SJ has no NHL calibre goalie in their system and no free agent goalie will want to sign with them while they’re rebuilding. Edmonton could throw in a prospect.
