no, but there was a challenge that you couldn't get Laffy/Miller to 4.2m deals without making any trade.

You do realize the Rangers have $3,700,000 in potential bonuses that will come out of next years salary cap, right? The Rangers will be lucky to have 80-81 Million in total cap space available.....which is one of the RFA signings.....You won't be able to sign both without trading Trocheck or Kreider...

You do realize that the schedule B bonuses that make up 2m of the bonus due, is tied to being top 10 in points, goals, assists, points per game, an all star, or winning a player award? So it's only 1.7m which could be simply fixed by either letting Kane choose to stay on a league minimum contract or not signing him. 4.2m is also an overpayment for Laffy, it's simply that they could match if an offer sheet is actually signed by him.

You are also allowed to go over the cap a certain percentage for bonuses without it become a cap casualty next year (by 7.5%)
