Description

Hextall and Burke fired. New GM is brought in and Sullivan is given limited time to prove that he can still control a team. If Sullivan does not show progress with a new roster he is fired and a replacement is hired. Zucker will take 5x3 as he said in a postseason interview that Pittsburgh is his home and 3 years will help him take a slight pay cut. POJ and Ty Smith take big jumps to bolster the LD along with Petterson having a year similar to 22-23 helping out the RD. Brought in Bertuzzi, Laughton, and Anthanasiou to give the bottom 6 speed and scoring ability. Brought Jarry back with a similar aav on a short-term prove-it deal along with bringing Raanta in to act as a 1A/1B with Jarry to give him enough rest time to avoid injury. Roughly 2 million in cap space with Poulin in the minors to work with getting AHL players such as Poulin and Hallander in the lineup. Was iffy on Raanta and I could see Jarry being able to get closer to ~5 mil on the market but was hoping he might take the prove-it deal to stay with the pens.

I was just thinking it's one or the other between Jarry/Raanta, and DeSmith stays as the backup.

Zucker is still early 30s and had a good year, he'll get 5mil but wont stay for 3 years.

Legare is not really playing well in minors and Laughton gets more than that, a pretty middling prospect who doesnt crack PHI's top 15 prospects, a 2nd TWO drafts away and a 4th THREE drafts away

Also this team is getting older as above, with guys like nylander, smith, poehling who haven;t shown much of anything to be the KEYS of the future.

All the while ALL of the key players are a year older. Its likely to get a worse result
