Description
I'm not a PIT fan, but sincerely don't gain happiness on other people's sadness. There can be silver linings in any situation. I'm a Hawks fan and while I grew up watching Amonte/Daze...Toews was my favorite Hawk of all time. He did everything and was clutch when we needed him. Sad time for a number of teams, but Kyle Davidson came out and said...we're not going to extend an offer/extension to Toews. It's just time. The time is now. Rough, but fair.

Malkin said out loud what everyone been seeing/thinking.
"I think we tried so hard. We tried everything. I try to play hard every game, you know,” Malkin said. “But the league is young. They play so hard. It’s a new generation. It’s coming"

For a team that was EXTREMELY healthy compared to years past, really just didn't perform well in any area all year, and doesn't have anything of significance coming to save them...

Honestly, how can you keep Malkin on the team? You can't have one of your leaders, franchise, future HOFer have the mentality that your team can't win. AND HE DOES. It's word for word. Not my words...his. I appreciate the honesty, but that's THE sign. When your leaders say we can't win...what are we even talking about then? You want to live in purgatory? Hextall needs to sit down with his veterans and ask them what do they want to do. I'm not saying WAS would do this trade, but maybe they want to keep OVI happy? Taking picks from a team within the division would be nice too. If for some reason TOR doesn't win this year...HUGE splash!

Jake/Rust...all that will work itself out, but the time is now.

No. The pens shouldn't trade the franchise icons who just combined for 176 points. They weren't the issue. The real issue just got fired so know we can we actually build a real team.

I mean...you and me don't mean much. One of those guys you're referring to open and outwardly said this team can't win. That same guy was actually finally healthy and 1st time he played an 82 game schedule in over a decade. Career average of 62 games a year.
