Description
This time the leafs keep JVR for the season. They make the same deal for Colin Miller, and have Calle Rosen make the team as the 6-7 D. In this case, the leafs don't really need the cap relief with the use of summer LTIR, but Arizona needs to reach the cap floor and take Lupul of the leafs hands with the incentive of two young wingers in Leivo and Soshnikov, who have no future with the team with the leafs depth at wing.

Quite an assumption that Rosen can step in and be an NHLer. And even trading Fehr, the Leafs have no depth at centre. But the Leafs have spare parts and something like that Arizona is quite possible.

I agree, it is a big assumption. However, not out of the realm of possibility that either Rosen, Borgmann or Dermott makes the team with a great camp. I would like the leafs to dump Lupul in this type of deal to rid some contracts as well.

From what I hear about Miller from Bruins fans, he is not that great, just has potential. A 2nd round pick has plenty of value to vegas.

Pal, you keep referring to Fehr as center depth and while I would suggest he is depth as a 4th center I believe both he and Smith with either be moved, and/or waived and demoted! I would suggest that as a 4th line center Leafs would look at Aaltonen, Gauthier (when returned from injury) and even our recent aquisition Chris Mueller!
If the Leafs have an injury to any of our top 3 centers, they almost certainly would look to move one of our wingers, Marleau, Nylander, etc. in to cover it off!
Hyman and Komorov have also played center, but their strength is still certainly on wing!
All sorts of center depth, with strong wingers moving up through the system if needed!
