Why would Heinola cost a 2nd? I would agree there is probably some untapped potential, but he can hardly even get into an NHL game, plus hasn’t he already asked for a trade?

Lundkvist costed a 1st… and if anything Heinola has more potential than him

Lundkvist is also a RHD, which typically returns more than LHD. I also don’t think that Nils asked for a trade. Plus Dallas was a bit desperate for a RD with the loss of Klingberg. Dallas definitely overpaid at the time of the trade, but it might be a fair trade in a few years. Maybe a 3rd for Heinola, but I’m not sold on the early 2nd.

Heinola is not playing simply because there isn't room for him much like lundkvist. An early second for the guy is more than fair considering he is nhl ready, cost controlled, untapped potential and that an early second round pick is by no means a guarantee to be an impact nhl player.

Actually quite the opposite Lundkvist publicly requested a trade and the speculation is Heinola is mad but he has never publicly request anything. I do think Lundkvist shouldn’t have gone for a 1st but a 2nd is 100% a fair price. If I’m the Jets I’m not moving Heinola unless it’s a 2nd+ I believe he has great potential.
