In the last few years cap only went up 2 mil. From 71 to 73 to 75. Nice effort but there is no nway this happens. matthews and tavares will both get at least 10

While I do agree with this, I believe we are overpaying for Nylander and Marner, as they will probably be closer to the 6x6 range which is standard for potential elite players leaving their elc.

This must have been a lot of work. However, there is no way the cap is rising 3 million a year. Thinking like that has the Blackhawks where they are now. The Big 3 are being underpaid. There is no way that the Leafs can afford Tavares and Matthews, two potential 10 million players AND another two 7+ million players.

It only went up at all from 69 million because the NHPLA agreed to let it increase even though revenue hadn't, and as such players are losing a bigger portion of their salary to escrow now. It's more likely for there to be some flat, or even down, years between here and 2021.
