Description
To me this is the absolute least both Lafreniere and Miller will get, along with Shesterkin probably playing around 70 games because they can't afford a backup. So, to all the AGMs that are saying I'm stupid for wanting to trade Miller because he's priced himself out, please fill RW2 with $1,472,142. Panarin - Trocheck - Lafreniere did not work this past season, hard to imagine they go with that plan again.

You don't trade 23 year old top 4 defensemen in this era, it's a recipe for disaster. Look at how far back the Sergachev trade put Montreal. Miller stays. One of Kreider/Kakko/Laf should be on the block.

Buying out Goodrow gains more cap space than his cap hit. That would be the move

A soft team gets even softer. I don't think that's the answer.

Drury isn't going to go with the same team next season after this first round exit, so my guess is cap space will open up a little weather than means trading Goodrow or someone else, but there is no chance he trades Miller. There is also a possibility that they wise up and move Kreider to RW since the vast majority of his goals come from within 5 feet of the net so does it really matter if he plays LW or RW? That is the best solution because it opens up a LW slot in the top 6.
