I'm very confused as to why we are trading for Lankinen @Manson

Kind of as a extra piece for Foote. (Who i think fits with Drysdale).

We'd stuff him in the AHL, Lankinen is awful.

Lankinen has been good in NSH. Don't see them having interest in trading him right after re-signing him, or in taking a more expensive downgrade in Stolarz.

Foote can be yours for a draft pick though.

Foote is a RHD, did you mean Fowler? Foote is definitely not top 4 material at the moment, maybe if he finishes developing, but right now he is a right shot 6/7 man.

As to Lankinen, he was good this year, put up a 0.916, granted Nashville has a lot better defense than Chicago did, but still, he was far above average.

Career numbers:

Lankinen - 88 GP .904 sv% 3.13 GAA - most of the games played on bad chicago teams. Age 28

Stolarz - 81 GP .912 sv% 2.93 GAA - most of the games played on a bad anaheim team - age 29

Given theyre both pretty advanced in age for goaltenders, id say theyre both backups at best. Lankinen has better numbers last season so i dont know why youd rock the boat. Lankinen and saros are also friends from previous world tournaments.
