Woll looks NHL ready, and I believe he will be this teams backup next year with Samsonov being the starter. Samsonov put up strong numbers in the regular season, and won a round for the leafs while battling a lingering injury. I have faith in these too.
However, this leaves Murray as the odd one out. His $4 million cap hit is definitely noticeable, and could limit the amount of moves the Leafs are able to make this offseason. With a likely loss to Florida (sweep or not), they are going to look to shake things up, and a Matt Murray trade is definitely likely.
So who does he go to, and what is the price? Honestly, I could see a similar situation to the Mrazek trade to Chicago. The Leafs trade down from 28th to a team with a 2nd round pick in order to dump Murray's contract.
However, maybe a team like Carolina could be interested if they are not re-signing Andersen or Raanta, and they want to give Kochetkov more playing time. They have $24 million in cap space this summer, and are not projected to have any big extensions coming in.
Detroit may be in a similar situation, as they have some cap space and do not have any big names to sign, but they may also look for a younger guy.
Other potential options mainly include bottom feeders who do not have 2 NHL caliber goalies next year. This could include Philly, Columbus, and SanJose.
This could maybe include Anaheim and Chicago, but they are more likely to give their young goaltenders a chance. Many may mention Arizona, but they are almost certainly running Vejmelka and Ingram, so I doubt they would be interested.
Anyways, what do you guys think? Do the Leafs trade Matt Murray this offseason? If so, who do you think they trade him to and what do you think the price is? Let me know!
Personally I would trade Murray. I also saw that San Jose are very low on NHL calibre goalies so I saw a fit there, to me, a trade could be Murray+Boston1st to SJS for Carolina 3rd and SJS 4th, if they were to trade him, this would be the most ideal situation for player and club.

I don't see them getting anything for him. If Tor is lucky, they won't have to include much to offload him.
Can we just note what a sad career he has had. At one point he looked amazing. Then Fleury left and his dad died. Never the same after that.
Yeah they definitely wont get anything in return, which is why I mentioned the Mrazek trade.
I know, I feel horrible for the guy, and I wouldn't be surprised if he retired after his contract expires. He had a good career for what its worth. 2 stanley cup rings is a major accomplishment.
1. The Leafs need to keep what little Draft picks they have.
2. Murray's NTC will be a headache.
3. Murray's buyout option will be a headache.
4. His injury history may prove he'll spend half the season on LTIR anyhow.
5. The constant player dumps Dubas has been doing will eventually give the Leafs a bad name to potential players.
