Description
Despite missing out on Bedard, we have a pretty attractive group of young prospects in ANA. These guys won’t all be ready in ‘24, but just wanted to lay out the prospect depth.

We’re pretty solid on D and in goal, but looks like scoring wingers is a need (hopefully Pastujov continues to develop and Perreault gets back on track). There should also be attractive talent left for the early 2nd this year to help address it (maybe Heidt?) and I imagine we’ll be picking high next year as well.

Excluding all our veterans and possible free agent adds, we’d already have some pretty attractive future lines of just youth:

McTavish - Zegras - Terry
Pastujov - Fantilli - Perreault
Lundestrom - Gaucher - Regenda
Jones - Grouxl -

Mintyukov - Drysdale
Zellweger - Luneau
Lacombe - Warren

Extras: Hinds, Helleson, Vaak

Dostal
Clang

I’m hoping we keep free agency simple this year and stick to short term deals that we can flip for assets at TDL. I’d prefer to save the long term cap space and roster spots for our young talent for another year or two. Save the cap flexibility to fill in the holes when we’re actually ready to compete

Would love to get a return for Henrique and Vatrano, and if possible Gibby. I’m still in the club that thinks he’s a legit #1, but our compete window just doesn’t match his age. That said, our d has been so atrocious that his stats look ass so I doubt any GM is willing to pay what he should be worth.

What do you guys think?

This roster needs some capable veterans and a couple more prospects to reach the NHL and you're good to go.

Damn this team! They are stacked full of crazy good players. This team will be a beast to play against for years if they can retain most of them.

That 3rd line you have in the description should be Regenda Lundeström Gaucher — Lundy isn’t great on the wing

Imo he’s gonna have to be better on the wing or we trade him (which I think is more likely). Gaucher is a true defensive center (2nd best face off % and winner of the best defensive forward in the QMJHL) and has better size to frustrate top centers in the NHL

I mean: Fantilli McTavish Gaucher Lundeström as a 1 2 3 4 is nasty (Z to the wing long term probably)
