Description
Not really too concerned with the rest of the roster right now, just wanted to get some thoughts on this trade.
Trades
TOR
  1. Roy, Matt
Additional Details:
Due to their abundance of right shot defenceman (without Brandt Clarke even being on the team yet), I could see LA trying to target a left shot defenceman in free agency, and trading Roy to get something back at max value. Someone like Graves or Orlov could bring a lot of value to their young blueline, and give them that left shot. However, I could also see them re-signing Gavrikov as well.

Anyways, my point is I think they should draw from their strength on the right side to clear cap and upgrade their left side. Or, if they so choose or cannot sign one of those guys, they could potentially trade Roy for a left shot defenceman. I did consider proposing a trade involving Brodie (along with some other things) for Roy, but wasn't sure if that would be something LA fans would be interested in if they could instead go after a younger guy like Orlov or Graves. Maybe a potential plan B though?
LAK
  1. Peksa, Vyacheslav [Reserve List]
  2. Tverberg, Ryan
  3. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
  4. 2024 7th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Thought you would be interested in a goalie prospect since I know or goaltending situation is a little bit up in the air right now. Peksa was a .921 in the VHL this year (AHL to the KHL). I would also be okay with Akhitiamov who had a .943 in the VHL but is a year older, or Hildeby who had a .918 in the SHL, take your pick. With Woll as our guy for years to come, I'm not too concerned with our prospect pool in net. They are all solid options.

Tverberg had a couple of pretty decent seasons in the NCAA. Might take a couple years to develop in the AHL, but should be a solid bottom 6 option for you in the near future.

Lmk if you would ask for more and what that would be. Also would be interested to hear your take on your goaltending situation this summer.

So your offer is two 7th rounders and two 6th rounders for a very solid top four defenseman? Really?

All those guys in FA will cost LA more than Roy, and they are running out of cap so, they won't do the tradeoff. Plus, they want to strengthen their D-core which would entail keeping Roy and adding someone else if possible.

If he does become available it would be in a hockey trade.

Misread that. Still, its a 4th, a 7th, a former 6th round pick and a former 7th round pick...not much better.

Judging a prospect based on where they were drafted is kind of out of date no? I mean I'd be willing to up it but I though the goalie prospect was a solid offer. Plus I did say you could pick any of the three. Hildeby and Akhtyamov were drafted in round 4, would you say they are worth more or less than peksa? Akhytyamov put up very similar stats at 20 to Peksa, so imo its about the same. Goalies are magic beans, but all three of those guys have looked good.

Tverberg's play in the NCAA the past couple of years suggests he should have been drafted higher. A lot of guys went before him that have not shown nearly as much promise. The leafs actually traded for that pick in order to draft him. 14 goals 32 points in 36 games, and then this year 15 goals 30 points in 35 games. Those numbers are pretty good, especially considering he played on a very bad Conneticut team where he got basically no help. I don't think he is going to be a star by any means, but there is definitely potential there.
