San Jose isn’t moving the 4th overall. This team is rebuilding I don’t see how adding one player will change their fortune when the prospect pool is still middle of the road in the nhl. Feel like this is just punting the hard fall off even further down the road. Two years of marner isn’t worth that

I don't think either team does this trade. San Jose is rebuilding and won't be anywhere near competitive even with Marner. And while the 4th overall pick will certainly produce an elite player, this return isn't nearly enough for Toronto as adding a young 18yo won't help them contend with their core.
