Why on earth would Verbeek trade BOTH let alone one of Zegras and McTavish for Matthews who will be gone once his contract is up?

I’ll let the Avs fellas come on in here and get ya for that Makar trade though

The Leafs GM...would be GM on the year. The Avs and Ducks GMs would be unemployed, never to be GMs in pro hockey again.

The Avs are never trading Makar, especially with his contract. I mean overall, this makes no sense for anyone. The Leafs are not winning with Ryan O'Reilly as their 1C. The Ducks aren't trading either of McTavish or Zegras, let alone both of them, and even suggesting a trade involving Makar that doesn't return like seven 1sts worth of assets is insane.
