Description
The kraken really came together this season and their depth was a huge part of their strength. But in order to win they have to bank on Beniers going godmode, Grubauer being better and others to keep delivering on a high level.

I think that Toronto might have to consider dealing Matthews/Nylander and among them i consider matt more for a couple of reasons, the most important one is the return a team like Seattle can offer in return for a top 5 centre in the league with an extension in place. Which i see as a 13x8 mil isch. The package should be centrered around Wright, high draftpick, potential nr1 centre and some other high quality pieces.

In order to improve goaltending, Driedger has to go in a dump and another brought in. Preferably someone who can play games and force Grubauer on the bench or up his game, 1a 1b.

Columbus need to make space for other guys and trading Boqvist gets them back some to help other areas and Seattle can use him like schultz.

Ok, so it's a lot. but consider the Eichel deal. elite centre (injured) netted a first rounder and krebs(former 1st) and tuch as well as 2nd rounder.

Translate to this and you get a worse 1st rounder, say Wennberg is a worse tuch and Wright is a much better Krebs. tanev+schultz is more than a second and you end up compensating for no injury.

Toronto spreads the cap around, get a placeholder 2c and next years 2c, get tougher and some help on RD. and they get back som draftcapital for either a DL move or to keep. things could be worse

The only of value going to Toronto is Wright (who isn’t looking that great) and a late first. Why would Toronto do this?

Columbus doesn’t need to open a space for Jiricek, he can either play top pair with Z or be the second pair guy behind Boqvist.

The hiccup in the deal is that Matthews will resign with Seattle. Actually as Leaf fan, I think the deal is good if Matthews isn't going to be resign with the Leafs.
I'm a the believer the Leafs should be in "sell" mode this season, and that means trading Matthews/Nylander and Brodie at some time.
