The Kings will not be trading their first 40 goal scorer in 30 years. I'd much rather have 3 years of Kempe at $5.5M AAV than 2 years of Marner at $11M AAV. Wouldn't do that deal 1-for-1.

Why does LA do this? Kempe scored 41 goals for half the price and is locked up a year longer. LA isn’t trading for Matthews or Marner. They are right on pace for their rebuild. It ended in a playoff spot this year. Byfield will take a step forward and maybe Clark comes up and starts getting time…trust me as a vegas fan I wish they would do this but they ain’t…

No, thanks, we'll keep Kempe, Vilardi and the future first and offer Ryan Graves $5 million for 5 years. Then, in two years, instead of nothing (unless Ovchinnikov or Robertson surprises and sticks in the NHL), we'll have at least one more year of Kempe, 7 years of Vilardi after signing him to a third contract in 2025, the first-round draft pick, and three more seasons of Graves.

Kings keep two NHLer who have a seven years of control over two years of Marner. Never mind the Kings have the same cap as the Leafs.
