Islanders aren’t trading more than a second to dump bailey, and they aren’t taking a bad contract back to do so. No disrespect intended, but Labanc ****ing sucks.

Love these types of trades for the Sharks. Islanders probably don't want Labanc. Maybe the Penguins could be interested in a swap for Granlund with them adding a pick?

Dunno if a 4th for Reilly makes it worth it.

I envisioned the trade as a 2nd to dump Bailey and a 2nd for Labanc w/ 50% retention, so not paying more than a 2nd to dump Bailey. Labanc has his issues and can be polarizing, but has a lot of upside at less than 2.5 million. He showed that when he got 56 points at 23 years old. Not really going to do anything else other than get points, but getting a forward that should be able to hit 40+ points for only 2.4 million seems like good value.

did Labanc to Islanders because of the NY connection and could replace Bailey on the RW with a higher upside Labanc. Granlund could be a good addition to get picks, but has 2 years left and Pittsburgh might just buy him out.

I honestly don't think Reilly's contract is that bad and I kinda wanted SJ to get him off waivers earlier this season. Hopefully could give him a boost on the 2nd pair w/ pp time and maybe flip him at the deadline, especially if we retained. Keeping him next year could be an option, although we do have a lot of mediocre LD.

Labanc has zero value, and he’s not gonna hit 40 points. Maybe he will have value around the deadline, but I wouldn’t be interested in him.
