Fair? Probably. But does it make sense for Boston? Nuge would be a 2C with Bergeron if he comes back but after next year he's at best a 2C who's benefited from having the best player in the league on his team, which gives him better matchups. I don't think he plays half as well against top pairing D.

Yah, fair trade! Though a soft solution to a hard problem for the Bruins - still not all unlikely to happen though, even if the B´s would probably offer up DeBrusk first.

Also, Edmonton could probably try to sign OEL for cheap - as could Boston. I believe he has more gas in his tank, but hey... who knows but himself.

Trading away a 100 point player on a $5M contract. Sounds like a great idea. The party that the Bruins would throw after that phone call would have more champagne and fireworks than new years eve
