Figuring out Habs draft strategy

I want Montreal to take Matvei Michkov at #5, despite all of the factors involved, He is a top 5 talent and Montreal should take the best player available.

BUT if they are considering Leonard, Reinbacher (no thanks), Benson or Dvorsky at 5, how doesn’t it just make sense to trade back and get additional asset?
I view the other players as all being in the 2nd tier of available players and all being good additions (even Reinbacher at a lower pick number) to the team. Why not get some more picks by moving down and getting additional assets?
Is there a good argument out there for staying at 5 and letting Michkov Fall to another team for free? I do not get such logic.
