Description

The Sabres main plan: Push for the playoffs
I think this is actually the year. The Sabres are in a great spot. A lot of the Sabres core players are locked in for at least three more seasons. They have solid depth and good forwards and defence. I have a good feeling about the 2023-24 season.

Strengths: Cap Flexibility, Prospects, Defence, Scoring
Weaknesses: Goaltending

Off-season: The Sabres have room for multiple extensions and additions. They need another top six veteran. Tarasenko could be that veteran. If this happens, it would be extremely exciting for Sabres fans. I think they need to move on from Olofsson now and not later. His contract is bad and he’s not the guy who we thought he would be. Can’t wait to see the Sabres when Kulich, Oustlund and Rosen jump into the lineup.

If you think Buffalo needs another top 6 forward you really don’t understand what Buffalo needs at all. Scapegoating the goaltending is simply lazy. Any goaltender would have had a bad year behind that defense, or lack of one. The real issue is they need a physical, shot blocking, stay at home, defense partner for Owen Power. If they do that and improve the team’s defensive approach, they will be considerably better.

Well said. I think fixing the d will make the goaltending look better, I wanna swap jokiharju for a solid second pair defensive d, and Bryson should be waived and assigned to rochester. If an upgrade on stillman comes cheap- like a Dillon from the Jets, that'd be good too.
