Flyers declined
So the question is : How much is Konecny worth vs DeBrincat?
Konecy is 1 year older and is 2 years before UFA. DeBrincat will most likely (like 99%) be traded with a 8 years extension
Now compare their track records...
Ostapchuk was an early 2nd round pick, his stock kept rising since, easily worth a 1st to Ottawa
Brännström was nothing short of excellent last season, his value was rising quickly. I would NOT trade him for a late 1st
Thomson will probably never get a real opportunity in Ottawa (PP, etc) but still worth a 2nd easily
Mandolese was impressive in his first NHL game but not worth more than a 5th/6th currently
If Konecny and DeBrincat have similar value, let's say Sens add Thomson because of TK cap hit for the next 2 years, Ostapchuk and Brannstrom for Hart is more than generous. I would explore many other options before doing this.

Hawks decline. Joseph takes at least a 2nd to dump to Hawks.

Joseph gets just shy of 3mil for the next 3 years & he is just another bottom 6 guy. Hawks have plenty of bottom 6 forwards already.
I have no idea why people are trying to "dump" Joseph. Sens will need him. I think it was when the Sens were in "cap crunch" to sign DeBrincat at 9.0 AAV due to his qualifying offer (he won't cost as much)
Sens have only 9 forwards penciled in next season, including Joseph. They are not going to "dump him" and there is also no need to do it.
He has top notch speed, elite results on the PK, scores 30+ pts per 82 games, he's not even a "dump"
