He's already bought out. Detroit is signing Kostin or at least going to attempt to. We basically got the rights to Kostin for free in exchange for taking on Yamamotos cap hit. The buyout is very small. 500k per year for 2 years. Kostin has a contract offer for around 1 million in the KHL that he was going to accept as the Oilers couldn't afford to give him a raise. Detroit can easily offer him 1.5m for 2 years to keep him in the NHL. He'll be a nice fit in the bottom six replacing the role Sundqvist / Erne played.
