Description
Sprong, Ghost, Perron and Kuby are all trade deadline players at this point. Compher and Holl seem like a carbon copy of Copp and Chairot from last season that really didn't work out as well as we hoped. Do Lyon and Reimer together even equal 1 backup goalie? It looks like all we've done is still be a nonplayoff team and make it harder for the NHL ready prospects in Kasper, Edvinsson and Soderblom to get any NHL minutes. I don't hate any of the forward ufas they signed but I think it's a couple too many. Let's hope a deal or two is close to help the log jam.

I think AHL will make Soderblom tougher and meaner. It’s easier to force that on to a player if they are not given a NHL spot.

Edvinsson had shoulder surgery in may and won’t be training for the whole summer. We have seen how awful Copp were because he didn’t train during the off-season. Good Yzerman signed a puckmoving D for 1-year.

Mazur could make it out of camp, but I see him as a player who complements top6 guys. Better if he can prove it in the AHL first.

I literally don't understand any of the signings. I honestly wished they signed a better capable backup and maybe 1 top 6 forward to a 1 year big salary deal like Duchene or tank 1 year 7M to get to cap floor and that's it.

Honestly at this point hoping for the best. They will be better on face-offs and PK/PP is all I see, but overall won't be much better then last year

My view of these signings are probably the same as yours just looking at it differently. I think it gives the coaches time to bring the kids up when it makes sense instead of pushing them and not giving them the time to develop.

Yeah add this to the draft which i found a bit disappointing I'm not really sure what we're trying to do. We're trying to compete while selling and drafting I'm not sure you can do both.

I wouldn't say trying to compete but just trying not to be really bad. Build a culture not based around losing.

I was also a bit disappointed in the draft, not because who we picked in the first round but because we traded back when there were good talents within arm's reach. Instead of trading back in the second round, why not use that pick and move up and grab Cristall. Would have been a great swing to take.
