Description

I understand maroon had a 16 team no trade list and most likely wasn’t popular to the teams he wanted to go to but like come on. You make a trade to free up space whether it be a roster spot or cap space and you still have to retain. Idc if you have to retain a dollar there is no reason I think JBB couldn’t have found a team willing to take on maroon. And why do we need a 7th, find a team that would do it in return for future considerations and walk away with 1 more mil to work with.

If JBB doesn’t utilize the moves he has made to free up cap space and walks into the season with this foward group I think we are 1 injury away from looking from the outside into the playoffs.

They could just let that cap accrue and see what they can get for their 2026 1st at the TDL.

Lots of rising teams in the East but TB still has a very good roster and they are having their longest off-season in 3 years.

Tampa can accrue cap with a second line player signed and also would need to move on from seabrooks contract. And another major point is what would we even trade for a tdl asset. JBB has shipped everything out that he possibly can

Its alleged that tarasenko is looking for the same deal as bertuzzi and kane will be out for half of the season. I really want tatar for the top 6 but comtois would also be acceptable for the 3rd line. If he doesnt make any more additions it will be disappointing. Also what was the point of signing archibald, and brown? There is goncalves, koepke, fortier, merela, ABB, archibald, brown and now Chaffee all trying for 2 maybe 3 spots. Maybe brown is supposed to be the 4th center in the AHL?

Maybe they could sign Kane for that (or less) since he will miss 70% if the season but I don't see Tarasenko doing it. Tatar maybe. There's bound to be some value contracts that they can sign when the money starts to dry up.
