No, thanks. Gibson's four-season term is extremely valuable to the Ducks because it's a bridge to Anaheim's opening window of contention.

That means nothing if Gibson's demand to be traded is true as is being reported. Teams very rarely ever hold onto a player on principle once it gets to the stage where the player refuses to suit up for them again. At this point, the Ducks will have to look at cutting their losses and get whatever they can because Gibson's mediocre stats for the past few years, cap hit and trade demand has reduced Anaheim's leverage to zero.
