They already punted they think adding 2 3rd pair defenseman will magically make UPL into an average goalie.

Unless they're going after a guaranteed upgrade like Hellebuyck, I don't see the reason for the Sabres to trade for another goalie at this point. See what they have between Levi and UPL behind an improving roster first, and if they s%&t the bed then maybe make a move.

At this point I don't see Gibson as much of an upgrade when you consider his cap hit and acquisition cost. Swayman or Ullmark would be a nice add depending on the cost though.

They didn’t really improve the roster and they know full well what luukkonen is (not good!)

Sheltering Levi with stability is far more valuable short and long term than a tandem where he ends up with a record number of starts

Yeah, adding a better veteran to pair with Levi would be ideal, I just don't know who that would be unless they give up some serious assets to acquire one. And UPL reminds me of Lehner and Ullmark (not that he's as good as they were), but you just know if the Sabres deal him somewhere else he'll probably have some success on his new team.
