Description
I have been in the same boat as everyone else and have had Drouin play with MacKinnon and Colton at 3C. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if a different approach might make more sense.

Neither Colton or Wood are really playmakers. They can generate shots and crash the net, but I think it's a valid question as to whether they are too much alike to excel together, and even more so if O'Connor is the third guy on that line. Perhaps something like this gives the lines a bit more balance.

Note that I'm not convinced this is the way to go, but I kinda think it might be. Or at the least, I'm not totally sure that the way we have had things is ultimately how it's gonna look.

I think Colton is going to get some looks with the top 6 in camp for sure, especially for what we are paying him.

I literally have an identical AGM with the same top 9 in my drafts right now lol.

Biggest glaring issue to me is the 3 C and/or LWs on line 3 (LH).

As for the D pairings, I’m not in favour of splitting Toews-Makar

Agree that Wood at RW is my biggest reservation, but I think he can take needless penalties on his off wing just as effectively, lol.

Toews and Girard have been really really good together in the past, and I see no reason why Byram wouldn't excel with Cale. I think this balances the D better, as for some reason Bo and Sam don't seem to click. But I hear you as well.

Avs went searching for pesky guys to provide toughness and grit and get in front of the net. I'm in favor of them spreading that around across the lines. With Val, Wood, Colton, and Cogs and a couple others to a lesser extent, we should be able to have someone on each line that serves this purpose.

Bo & Girard were great when put together last year. Bednar has had no problem switching up the pairings or hands/sides of the ice, we'll get to see every combination under the sun this season.
