Threesome trade fills two holes

I really don't see us trading Maatta after just extending him. Chiarot would be a different story.
I really don't see us in on Couture. He's still an effective player but paying assets for a 34 year old with 4 years left, even with retention, with a big cap hit makes zero sense for us. Also don't see Sharks using all their retention slots on long term contracts.

Zero interest in a 34 year old Logan Couture, Copp and Compher are just fine as our 2C and 3C until both Danielson and Kasper are NHL ready then both can be moved to wing.

Zero interest in moving Olli Maatta for Jeff Petry. If Yzerman had any interest in Petry. I'm pretty sure a deal would've been done before signing both Gostisbehere and Holl.

Plus there's no chance of either Ben Chiarot and David Perron being heathly scratched with their $4,750,000 contracts.

I'd take Maatta over Petry all day long!!!

I wouldn't expect Edvinsson back until January. With what happened to Vrana they will take it slow.

I don't see the pens doing this (or detroit really) Maatta has played well on the left side recently for detroit. If Pittsburgh moves Petry it's gotta be purely to clear cap for EK, so taking Maatta back doesn't make sense, not to mention the LD side is set with Graves/Pettersson/POJ
