Description
Brad Treliving and Sheldon Keefe can run back 11 and 7 to stay cap compliant with their current roster. This helps the Leafs avoid getting handcuffed in a bad trade this off-season by another team who knows we are trying to shed money, which takes away our leverage. Players can be called up on an emergency basis if someone goes down with injury, which is inevitable. The most important thing is staying under the cap by the end of training camp, and then the team can deal with the rest on-the-fly for the remainder of the season.

i think when we run 11/7 reaves will be a healthy scratch. we can carry him through a game when its 12/6 but at 11/7 it's a lot tougher to accommodate him

I don't mind it... Gives The top 6 more ice time and allows the Leafs to see what works and what doesn't

I have this as my most likely projected opening night roster as well. I would alter the lines a bit but ultimately, this is the group I imagine starts. Pending injury and outrageous play in the pre-season.

Robertson, McCman, Steeves, Holmberg will all have to play lights out to beat out Timmins and Laferty in my mind.

We will see what happens.

It won't last long either, someone will get hurt and then we get an emergency call up.

Maybe send Gio down Spezza style and bring up Steeves, Robertson or McMann if they wanted to go 12/6. Timmins can also play wing I believe
