Description
Hello! Please don't just trash this idea of Mtl trading for their biggest rival's best player.
I know it wouldn't happen. I just want to fantasize about this top line and see who thinks this is enough VALUE for Pasta.
Hypothetically speaking, if Bruins decide to go to full rebuild, and if Pasta wants to win and (i know, laughable but still) he sees opportunity with Mtl.

Pasta would probably cost Montreal a guy like Caufield or Slafkovsky

Caufield, Dach, Barron, Beck, and a 1st would probably be closer in this fantasy trade.

I follow the 3-2-1 style for this kind of trade. 3 firsts, 2 top prospects (Reinbacher and Roy), and 1 NHLer (Caufield or Dach) but if the NHLer is Slafkovsky, only 1 prospect

Do you have any comparables in mind? I can't think the last time a trade of Pasta's value happened. Taylor Hall trade doesn't come close.
Joe Thornton? Erik Karlsson to SJ? Jack Eichel definitely wasn't 3-2-1. He was essentially 1 roster player, 1 prospect, 1 first & 1 second.
Personally if you compare your idea to Eichel, that's a landslide overpayment for Pasta.

Go back to the Eichel trade to VGK and get back to me when you've reflected a bit plz
