If Pinto was willing to take that money the deal would be done I would think.
Sens offer was 1x1 and Pinto's ask was 2 x 2.5, so that would mean Pinto came down a lot.

Just horrible assets management by Dorian, and the lose of Thompson is even worse, why not use him as a sweetener in trade?

Pinto may not any choice but to take 1.6m if he wants to play in the NHL this season.
Out of playoff teams shouldn't be cap trouble, but the Dorion has managed it

Middle ground between 1.0 and 2.5 is 1.75, so 1.6 is actually very close

Didn't see that coming even though I should have known with Dorion... Just more awful asset management. The 3 guys waived were 22 y/o last season... lol
