You think 30 other teams are going to pass on him?

Yes. Watching him play, he's just a guy with above average defensive instincts and whole lot of nothing else. Even then, you only notice him when he makes a massive mistake. He's young, but that's his only upside.

He's definitely not an NHL player yet and certainly not a 2nd pairing guy. Plus, he's not attractive as a some other players on waivers that are on 2-ways and making minimum wage.

I’m not gonna lie, I appreciate the insight but I just don’t see how he makes it past 30 teams. Former 1st round picks are definitely valuable if they somehow it waivers

JBD doesn't fall far enough for FL to get him. He gets claimed before that. Doubt he falls any further than AZ or Vancouver.

First round pedigree and having the old right handed shot does get you looked at. I just don't see him being any better than the likes of Connor Timmins or even Ty Smith. Both of which are probably going to clear and be assigned to their respective AHL affiliates.

Don't get me wrong, I have hopes that JBD isn't claimed because there is still some value and upside despite his shortcomings, but it's not like it's going to hurt Ottawa in the long run.

When you can't make a rebuilding squads bottom pairing, even as a 7, that's shocking.
