Description
Coach Julien confirmed that Jonathan Drouin will be tested at centre at the training camp. That's how I think the starting lineup is going to look like. The offense is not looking too bad but we still need a real 1C. We could use some of our prospects and draft picks to acquire a big centre. We also have too much defenseman and it wouldn't surprise me if Marc Bergevin decided to move some. Of course, in the net, we still have Carey Price and Al Montoya. To be honest, we have a lot of value in our goalie core. I'm thinking about Michael McNiven, Charlie Lindgren and other young goaltenders that could have an interesting value. I personnally think that we'll finish 2nd in the Atlantic behind the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the 1st round of the playoffs, we're going against a young and promising Maple Leafs team. Due to incredible performances by Carey Price and Jonathan Drouin, we manage to win the series in 7 really close games. 2nd round, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the 1st seed in the East and in the Atlantic. We lose this series in 6 games due to an incredibly dominant performance by the Lightning. I predict that Carey Price will be nominated for the Vezina and will win it. Our leader in points will once again be Pacioretty with 69 points, who is followed by Jonathan Drouin, with 58 points and Alex Galchenyuk, with 55 points. Max Pacioretty, Alex Galchenyuk, Jonathan Drouin, Arturri Lehkonen will score at least 20 goals this season if they're not injured for too long.

Bondage interesting takes. I would caution putting too much value in unproven young goaltenders. If history and the draft teach us anything, it is that teams are putting less and less value in backup goaltending. Any value you might derive from having solid goaltending prospects would have to be in the form of a larger package. Too many low cost veterans available!

Nothing against hometown optimism (I am a Leaf fan), but I think the Canadians aren't going to make the playoffs. Experimenting with Drouin at centre and hoping Danualt can continue his breakout season at centre, to me are two big ifs for the Habs. And with defence looks average to weak. Hey, but that's why they play regular season.

I don't think the Habs will have any issues making the playoffs. Frankly, 8M of cap space gives a team lots of options throughout a season should they ever fall outside the bubble. While the D-Corps really does need that one major piece (i.e. a #2) there is certainly tons of depth. I honestly see Jerabek slotting in with weber this season. Statistically speaking, he and Zaitsev had nearly identical numbers in the KHL. I agree that Drouin is a big 'if' at Centre, but frankly he is a better winger anyway. Furthermore, Galchenyuk was a top producing C before injuring his knee (while averaging 5 less min. of ice time). To me he is the ideal choice for the position, and Danault will have no issues playing 2-3C.
