I don't think this interests Montreal too much since Armia doesn't need to be waived and Roy is tearing up the AHL. I think they would rather keep Armia to bury later and call Roy up if after 10 games he is still on a 2ppg pace

Not really, Roy could be on the roster this year and likely is going to outgrow the AHL rather quickly. I can see the Habs just buying out Armia after the season if they can't move him. If Mantha comes and plays well then they would resign him. I prefer to not be in that situation

Caps would very likely much rather just tough out the last year of Mantha’s contract than trade him for an extra year of dead money.
