Description

Almost impossible that this happens, but Huberdeau desperately needs a change in scenery. Gaudreau also hasn't been doing that well in Columbus. Huberdeau and Gaudreau both have a NMC and I highly doubt Gaudreau wants to go back to Calgary. But if the GMs are able to convince both of them to waive their NMCs, then maybe? But still nearly 0% this happens. The Flames would have to likely add a sweetner because Huberdeau's contract lasts 2 more years and is 750k greater cap hit.

Interesting concept but the jackets would have zero interest in this trade. Huberdeau is more expensive and has more term left and hasn’t been producing as well as gaudreau.

Call me crazy (because what they really need is a center), but I wonder if WSH could be a landing spot for one of these guys if CGY or CBJ want to cut bait on their contracts. The Caps won't want to do a full rebuild while Ovi is there, and adding one of these guys to play with him on the PP could be enticing(?). They have some cap space assuming Backstrom is now LTIR retired.
