Description
EDM trade is Allen for a conditional pick based on the Oilers performance. If they continue to suck, Habs get a high end 2nd rd pick, but if they bounce back into a playoff spot, the pick moves to a 2025 1st with EDM hoping it'll be a 25-32 overall pick, but they still have top 10 protection. And there's a prospect swap between Ylonen and Holloway for MTL retaining on Allen's salary,

Not gonna lie, the Hart trade is quantity over quality. A big no-no here on Capfriendly lol But they get the potential best case scenario of a 2025 1st from EDM, a high end 2025 2nd from MTL, a B prospect in Farrell, a project in Primeau, and a roster player in Dvorak... I still think it's more than fair.

EDIT: Dvorak was initially included, but now has been removed.

Trade will only happen if the 2018 World junior investigation is released, and Hart's name isn't involved in any way.

Why does it feel the habs paid the same for hart as edm does for Allen, especially considering Dvoraks dump lol

Overpayment by Edmonton. No chance Allen returns more than 2nd round pick without the prospect swap. Even with the retention. Goalies are way too fickle. At best, you may be able to get an additional 2nd this year based off winning the cup or playoff performance with a minimum % of games played.

Plus Dvorak is a cap dump, you'll have to pay to get rid of him in addition to acquiring Hart

Not sure how you see that.... considering Habs literally flip the best asset they get from EDM, and add their own high end 2nd. Not sure Dvorak is a 100% a cap dump, he's overpaid sure, but it's already been reported PHI is willing to take on a contract to make a Hart trade work.
If Habs wanted to truly "dump" a contract. It would be Armia lol

To be honest, I'm fully ok removing Dvorak from the deal. I'll make the change.
