Just hold Mantha through the season. We're not getting rid of him. There's no point in adding a sweetener for cap space with Backstrom out.

As for the Calgary trade, I do personally have interest in Hanifin and Dube, but I think an extra piece is missing. Maybe Kuznetsov goes to a third team, we get an asset to send to Calgary, along with likely another asset. I could see something along the lines of Alexyev, Lapierre, a second round pick, and whatever we get in return for Kuznetsov (maybe a 2024 second if we retain).

Hanifin wants a much richer deal than that I don’t want the Caps to be the ones payin it.
