Tough trade for both teams
Draisaitl is not the reason why the Oilers are struggling. Trading him is a big change so what are you trying to do exactly? Rebuild/retool or make big changes? If you rebuild/retool, you need futures. If it is a big change, this could work but Norris still needs time to get his game back in order, Oilers don't have time. Getting Chychrun would obviously be a coup but the thing they need would be to make big changes WITHOUT giving up McDavid or Draisaitl
From Ottawa's perspective, I would NOT do this.
The problem for Ottawa is NOT offense (they are 3rd in GF/GP right now), it's coaching and the "TEAM DEFENSE" concept. Draisaitl doesn't fix any of that, as great as he is offensively.
Campbell is a MASSIVE cap dump, which the Sens can't afford at all.
Chychrun is KEY in the Sens rebuild. He's a young 25 y/o TOP pairing D-man who will most likely sign a 8 year extension with Ottawa
Norris has missed a lot of hockey and is slowly getting back into the groove. He has shown elite scoring ability in his 21-22 yo seasons and had very good defensive metrics in his rookie season too, facing top competition
If Draisaitl really wants to come to Ottawa, sign him as an UFA in the summer in not even 2 years.
Giroux and Zub will be UFAs by then, Sens will have the cap. Worst case scenario, trade someone for futures
