A 34-year-old Ryan Miller was traded for Chris Stewart, William Carrier, Jaroslav Halák, a 2015 1st and a 2016 3rd

To this I would say- yeah it's probably too much, saros only has this year and next under contract, and I don't wanna be in a position where our gm might decide to throw him a crazy extension/or watch him walk. The flip side of that is- I think lots of Sabres fans have Krebs in the doghouse, he's been playing in the bottom 6 and not producing enough at either end of the ice, he no longer is a player that would hold 1st round pick value. Rosen is an undersized winger (5'11", but quite skinny), which isn't a piece that Nashville is looking for (I've seen top 6 center and defense listed as positions they would want). Rosen is interesting, he's over a point per game in the ahl, and the amerks have gone to great lengths to add meaningful muscle to his frame. As far as the top 10 protected first- I think granato has made a small amount of progress getting players to play a 200 foot game, but the high danger stuff still rears its ugly head far too often, the power play is a mess, and the injuries are starting to pile up. As this season goes on, that pick getting pushed to 25 seems like a real possibility. So as much as it looks like an overpay on paper, I can see Nashville having very little interest too.

Making that trade says that you believe Saros will get you to the playoffs and that Buffalo is a goalie away

It's a gamble but, it's worth considering since UPL, Levi and Comrie haven't been the answer so far

Levi needs more time, might be better for him to be the #1 in AHL and get a guy like Saros backed up by one of the remaining two

Boone Jenner is not up for trade. No, not even for that.
