Well I'll give you credit for something different. But as stated, both teams pass on this.

This would actually make a lot of sense for NYR- but they wouldn’t do it because their short term chances to win the Cup would take a hit…but longer term- not only would they be set up better adding Byfield and Turcotte….they would avoid the risky contracts to Lindgren and Igor- both which will probably become albatrosses sooner than later.

But no way LA deals Byfield.

Obviously I meant it doesn't make sense for either team now, doesn't really fill the needs. But that depends on how long Chytil is gone of course.

While I don’t think the deal in this lineup would get much traction from either side- it does address 2 headaches for Drury. Igor and Lindy are a big part of the team- and both are fan favorites. Of course an argument can be made to extend either (or both)… but if Drury can show some real worth as an NHL exec- he’ll either get them extended on team friendly deals (doubtful- esp for Igor)….or move them in deals that strengthen the org for the longer term- maybe even while not sacrificing much in the short term.
