He has a NMC and Calgary doesn't want players who don't want to be here (as evidenced by the Zadorov trade).

Yeah, I couldn't make it work without moving additional salary.

If we retain half on Tanev, other salary has to be moved. This was more just to see if I could get the Gaudreau contract in and under the cap.

I feel like the only way we are getting back to the best line in hockey is by getting at least two successful drafts. We lucked out with Gaudreau, and had to pick in the top 10 3 times before we landed Tkachuk.
